Your Commencement Speakers:

Bill Jack

Bill Jack, faculty advisor for Worldview Academy, spent ten years as an educator in the public schools. He was national representative for the Caleb Campaign, and a contributing editor for Issues & Answers. He has appeared on national radio and television programs. Students nation-wide have learned from Bill at conferences sponsored by the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI), and the Institute for Creation Research (ICR). He is the producer of several videos including "Simple Tools for Brain Surgery." Bill and his wife, Tabby, live in Colorado with their children.

Bill Jack will speak at the Friday 24th 6pm and Saturday 25th 10am Ceremonies.

Kevin Swanson

Homeschooled himself in the 1960′s and 70′s, Kevin Swanson and his wife, Brenda, are now homeschooling their five children. Since graduating from his homeschool and then serving as student body president of a large west coast university, he has gone on to other leadership positions in corporate management, church, and other non-profits. Kevin has 35 years of experience in the homeschooling movement and serves as the Director of Generations with Vision – a ministry he founded to strengthen homeschool families around the country. As a father who wants to leave a godly heritage for his own five children, Kevin’s passion is to strengthen and encourage the homeschooling movement all over the world, and to cast a vision for generations to come.

Kevin Swanson will speak at the Saturday 25th 3pm ceremony.

Ceremonies

These ceremonies are a wonderful way for parents to affirm their children publicly and are a great culmination of their homeschool experience. These formal but simple ceremonies will be held at Cherry Creek Presbyterian.

There are 25 spots per ceremony. Students who have been homeschooled for at least one full year immediately prior to graduation are invited to apply. You do not need to be a member of the CHEC Independent School to participate in the graduation ceremony. The cost is $155 and includes cap and gown, diploma and  printed program.

CHEC’s policy regarding cords of distinction, sashes, different colored tassels and robes:

The CHEC graduation ceremonies are designed to be simple and uniform in terms of colors, robes (which are navy blue) and tassels (which are blue and gold). The cords, sashes, etc. we see in the commencement exercises of institutions are awarded by the institutions and are in comparison to the other students in the class. The participants in the CHEC ceremonies are not in the same class. Again, the CHEC ceremonies are intended to be simple and uniform in appearance.

Parents who would like their students to wear various adornments in individual and family photos are free to do so separate from the ceremony, and are free to use the stage as a back drop. However, the CHEC ceremony will remain uniform in terms of colors and adornments.
