ENTREPRENEURIAL MINI CAMP WITH VISION FORUM MINISTRIES
Vision Forum has created an innovative training academy to equip families of entrepreneurial vision with Bib-
lical tools for business success. We are delighted to be able to present an abbreviated version of their two
day Bootcamp at the 2008 Conference.

This mini camp will be equally valuable to full-time and part time entrepreneurs as well as to those who are
seeking counsel and wisdom in their quest to begin their own venture, large or small.

Included in this year’s Entrepreneurial Mini Camp is a business plan contest for young entrepreneurs. If you are a young entrepreneur (13-21 years old) bring your business plan for entry in the contest. You will have the opportunity to have your plan analyzed and critiqued by several successful Christian businessmen. This is a wonderful occasion to grow in knowledge and experience. The owner of the winning plan will be announced at the final Mini Camp session on Thursday afternoon. A feature article on the winning business and it’s owner will appear in the 3rd quarter 2008 issue of Update Magazine. Don’t miss out on this fantastic opportunity to have your business plan reviewed by Godly men who can give you great advice and counsel for the future of your enterprise. Click here for entry information.

THE VON TRAPP CHILDREN

The Sound of Music captured the hearts of millions when the film debuted in 1965. Now, nearly forty years later, the von Trapp’s family legacy is born anew. Meet the von Trapp Children: Sofia, Melanie, Amanda, and Justin. They are the great-grandchildren of Captain von Trapp, father of the famous singing family whose story captivated the world in the musical The Sound of Music. The children have continued the tradition of the family’s exceptional musical gift and love of singing, sharing songs, and heart-warming family stories.
Visit The von Trapp Children website.

Many homeschooling parents are simply seeking practical, down-to-earth ways of teaching their children science, math, history and literature. The Nuts ’N Bolts Track is just this. If you are seeking “how-to” ideas for your homeschool, this track is just for you. There will be both an elementary and a high-school track for exploring techniques, methodologies and curricula to enhance your homeschooling experience.

In this track, parents will find talks that will encourage and challenge them in communicating together with their youth about critical issues they both will face in the coming years while passing the mantle to the next generation.

HOMESCHOOLING FOR EXCELLENCE
Every year there are thousands of parents who have followed God’s calling to begin homeschooling their children, yet need practical advice on how to do it. The Beginners Track is designed specifically to direct, encourage, and give practical tips to parents for the first years of homeschooling their children.

CHEC IS A MINISTRY TO FAMILIES
If you support our vision of providing leadership, information and resources with a Christ-centered focus for those involved in home education, we ask that you prayerfully consider partnering with us in any of the following ways:

• Stakeholders– $50 or more per year.

• Founding Families–at least $10 per month (or $120 per year).

• Scholarship for Conference Attendees – CHEC recognizes that not every family can absorb the cost of a conference registration in their budget so we provide a special scholarship fund to which others may contribute.

• Those who give $50, or more per year, will receive a 17% discount on the upcoming conference, 15% discount on membership with HSLDA, and 10% discount on CHEC products.

Registration includes admission to the entire conference: Thursday’s Pre-conference and Friday and Saturday’s Conference, including the Exhibit Hall and vendor demonstrations.

STILL UNDECIDED ABOUT HOMESCHOOLING?
BEEN HOMESCHOOLING FOR 2 YEARS OR LESS?

Don’t miss “Homeschooling For Excellence”— an all day seminar on Thursday for anyone who has been homeschooling two years or less. Enjoy shopping in the Exhibit Hall from
5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. that evening.

ATTENTION ALL YOUNG ENTREPRENEURS!
CHEC is inviting young entrepreneurs to participate in the 2008 conference as a vendor. If you are a homeschooled student, age 13 to 21 and have your own business, we invite you to apply for booth space. Send inquiries to vendors@chec.org.

PASTORS
Conference attendees may bring their pastor, who is not home educating his own children, to the conference free of charge. Please have your pastor request a “Pastor’s Guest Pass” on church letterhead with their completed registration form. The pastor may also bring their spouse along at no charge.

ROLLING DEVICES

CHILDREN UNDER 13
This conference is intended for parents’ enrichment, and we are unable to accommodate children under 13 years of age. This policy will be strictly enforced. Nursing babies are welcome. However, on Saturday only, for a small fee, children under 13 will be allowed to attend the Saturday morning general session and have access to the exhibit hall.
